UAR Middleweight contender Tom ‘Kong’ Webster had some choice words for, #1 Ranked UK Amateur, Nathan Dale ahead of their title clash at M4TC27 in June.
Washington’s Webster, who boasts a 6-1 record in his young career, will looking to capture his first Made4TheCage gold, but will face a tough test in Dale, who is an undefeated 8-0.
However ‘Kong’ thinks Dale’s record may not be an accurate reflection of his skill set stating: “He’s a rangey, tall guy with one weapon – knees. He leaves his chin out and has been tagged a couple of times but has proven he can take a shot.
“I will definitely be testing that chin though. I’m going to pin him against the cage, take him down and smother him with strikes. All while telling him he knows I’m going to win.
“I think he’ll maybe make it through the first and maybe the second, with that repeating if it does, if he has enough in the tank to reach the third, that’s when he’ll have nothing left to give.”
“Then I’ll collect my belt and #1 spot in the middleweight division for UK & Ireland.”
This will be Webster’s first performance under the Made4TheCage banner in two years, when rising UK star Joe Millward, who has since caused a storm in the UK pro ranks, defeated him in the only blemish on his record to date.
When asked what a victory would mean and capturing the title in light of that defeat, Webster said: “It would mean a lot! The last time I had a shot a total cluster of things that went wrong. Not to take away from Joe in anyway, I was there to fight and believed I could win, I still believe I could have, but he just executed his game plan perfectly.
I’ve came to terms with that now though, it was necessary and was probably the best thing that could’ve happened because I’ve learnt a lot mentally about myself from that fight, which has contributed to how much better I have become. A lot can change in two years, come June I’ll show just how much and reclaim what is already mine.”
This fight is going to be an explosive affair, with two of the best UAR Middleweights in Europe going toe to toe on one of the biggest stages in UKMMA.
When asked what we were going to expect out of this fight, the North-East fighter said: You’re going hear my music hit those speakers, hear Buddae call my name and then witness me bringing the game.
“I’m going to march into the centre of my octagon, stalk him like a lion, landing any combination I damn well please. He’s going to try and clinch me – that’s when he’s going to notice the difference between himself and an actual athlete.”
