Tim ‘Whirlwind’ Close: ‘it promises to be a great fight’

Tim ‘whirlwind’ Close (7-2) has yielded an impressive record through his 10-years involved in MMA, and at only 21-years-old this young fighter is looking to take his career even further in 2013.

‘Whirlwind’ is coming into this fight with a six-fight winning streak, including a first round submission victory over Dean Malham at Made4TheCage 6: Annihilation.

The 21-year-old will face Paul ‘cookie’ Cook (11-2) a slick fighter that despatched of Danny Welsh at M4TC8 via rear-naked choke in less than two minutes.

Close said: “I think Paul is a great opponent for me as it promises to be a great fight, he has good skills and would be a great win for me.”

Close fights out of renowned gyms: Kirkmerrington MMA and The Lodge Fight Club and has his eyes set on the lightweight title.

He said: “Winning the title would mean a great amount to me as I’m just trying to work my way up into the lightweight rankings and what better way than winning the M4TC title”

This fight is one of five title fights at the event which promises to provide an experience like no other MMA promotion in the northeast at the moment.
