Tickets on Sale now for Great Annual Savings North-East MMA Awards

Mixed martial arts fans are being encouraged to snap up tickets for the first ever Great Annual Savings North-East MMA Awards that will celebrate the achievements of top performers in the profession.

The North East Fighter of the Year will be announced at the inaugural North East Mixed Martial Arts (NEMMA) Awards, which will take place on Friday, May 20 at the Best Western Roker Hotel in Sunderland. Other award categories include Breakthrough Fighter of the Year, which will recognise emerging talent in the sport; Team of the Year; Coach of the Year; and Fight of the Year, which is being sponsored by Seaham-based cost management firm Great Annual Savings Group.

The event will give people the chance to enjoy a sociable evening with which includes a three-course meal with a champagne reception and live entertainment. Tickets are priced at £30 per person.

Event organiser Dale Percival, who has used some of his personal funds to get the event up and running, said: “The idea of the awards is to raise the profile of the sport within the North East and hopefully get more people to appreciate the talents of MMA professionals in the region. These awards are here to show the athletes and coaches that their hard work is appreciated and not taken for granted or forgotten.

“We’re grateful for the support of our valued award sponsors, without which we’d have struggled to raise the funds to host this prestigious event.

Bradley Groves, chief executive and chairman of Great Annual Savings Group (GAS), said: “These awards will raise awareness of a sport that is growing in popularity in the North East. There are some fantastic MMA professionals who don’t currently receive the recognition they deserve. Hopefully this event will encourage more individuals to take up the sport and more businesses to back people who do.”

To purchase tickets, please call Dale Percival at 07972612384 or Steven Scott at 07843 932067 for details.
