The proud Scottish native has described himself as a ‘big friendly bear’ but with a deadly combination of powerful and accurate strikes mixed with a developing ground game he is a cocktail of MMA skills that has seen him notch his name in the UK top 10 light-heavyweights.

Truesdale said: “I am very motivated for the fight, M4TC events are one of the top UK promotions and I’m topping the bill against a top opponent, so there was no need for soul searching before this one. I’m pretty pumped up.”

After a successful stint at the Dinky Ninjas fight team, that proved fruitful in his training, Rab says that the 80 mile trip was just too much in between training and his job. So Rab is back with his old training partners at the Scottish Muay Thai Council.

He said: “I have great coaches and facilities there but sometimes lack in training partners. Working shifts is always a pain when you’re training for a fight but I have a key for the gym and sometimes find myself training at strange hours. And I still share a good relationship with the Dinky Ninjas.”

As well training at SMTC he also has time to train at the Griphouse in Glasgow where you can find some of the best British MMA talent.

‘Baloo’ entertained the heavyweight scene before deciding to shred down to light-heavy. However, he put a stamp on the heavyweight division, going 4-1-1 with his only loss coming from highly regarded fighter Dayman Lake at Cage Warriors 44.

After making 205lb his new home, Truesdale has continued his rampage with impressive victories at BAMMA 9 against Sam Mensah via TKO in the first round and a second round armbar win against Thomas Denham at Supremacy Fight Challenge 4.

Even though Truesdale is coming off a rear-naked choke loss to Kevin Thompson at M4TC 6 he has the chance to strip that loss from his mind with a new chunk of gold around his waist.

Truesdale said: “Headlining the show is awesome, it has great match ups and great promoters and I can’t wait. After I win the title I want to keep defending it and fight top 10 UK guys or Europe’s top talent”.

This has all the makings of a M4TC classic and will not disappoint.
