The deal was agreed to earlier this week and comes after Mulheron’s successful defence of his Pro British Heavyweight Title last November.
The news also comes ahead of the unbeaten heavyweights scheduled European title fight on February 28th, where the South Shields resident will headline another Made4TheCage event.
Made4TheCage co-promoter Steven Scott spoke on the signing and what it means.
“In some ways it just means we’ll be doing the things we were already doing,” he said.
“I think it’s a good thing for both parties, we both know each other and we feel privileged to have had James and see him develop to where he is now.
“He’s been a dream fighter to have and he’s always wanted to fight the best and always wants the toughest opponent, and that speaks volumes.”
The last few years has seen Mulheron rise from the bottom of the Made4TheCage card all the way to the main event, headlining several shows.
“We’ve seen all the hard work James has put in, and this is an appreciation of all the hard work the promotions put in as well to build the fighter up, and it’s been a privilege to do that,” said Scott.
Rumours of Mulheron joining the ranks of the world’s biggest MMA organisation the UFC have been rampant following his outstanding year in 2014.
Scott believes that after this deal James now has the representation he needs, along with his support, to potentially achieve that goal.
“James already has fantastic support from the likes of Phil De Fries, his family and his dad,” he said.
“He’s got all the support he needs, but now he has that little bit extra, with needing someone to speak on his behalf, which might happen and hopefully will happen if he gets to the UFC.
“He has fantastic support and team around him already. He’s very homely, he’s from South Shields, he loves South Shields, he loves the people of South Shields and the people there love him.
“I always say in any industry or any profession the sky is the limit and you can go wherever you want and if he does get to that point where he wants to be, then hopefully we’ll be there with him.”
