Ord, who boasts an impressive record of 4-1 in his young career, won the title by defeating Rikki Fortuna in his last outing at M4TC22 but will look to raise his performance another notch as he faces the dangerous Murrie in his first defence.
Murrie, 2-0, is coming of two huge wins himself, one in his debut fight at ACB 47 in front of a packed out arena in Glasgow so will not be intimidated stepping into what may be a favourable crowd for Ord in the North-East.
The two fighters are well known in the United Kingdom as some of the brightest prospects in their division at domestic level and this clash is already being touted to be a show-stealer in what is sure to be one of the biggest UK cards this summer.
Ord is a tricky fighter, usually suited to a more grapple-based bout given his Jiu-Jitsu pedigree and training with the likes of Ellis Younger and Andrew Sill on a regular basis will certainly give you an edge over most opponents. He responded well from his only loss against SBG Ireland’s Frans Mlambo against Fortuna, dominating the ground exchanges before finishing with a vicious ground and pound stoppage.
However, if Murrie’s last two fights are anything to go by, this will be the toughest test of Ord’s Jiu-Jitsu to date, as the Scot has two impressive submissions under his belt already in his young career. This one will definitely be an intriguing match-up!
Made4TheCage promoter Dale Percival took to social media to express his excitement for this battle: “This will see two of the UK’s best up and coming fighters face each other in what will be a fantastic fight.
It will see a classic Battle of Britain, England vs Scotland!’
We can’t wait for this one!
