The 2-4 fighter also revealed how well his fight camp has gone for this bout as he looks to close up the potential weaknesses in his game and is excited about the coming fight.
He told me: “My fight camp for this has gone smoothly and I didn’t pick up any injuries so this is the best condition that I have ever been in and it will be a tough test for Luke.
“I have been working hard on my wrestling as I feel I am rusty on the floor as well as my kickboxing and muay-thai while I am also hoping that my experience can play a part but this is MMA and anything can happen.”
Edgar and Westwood go toe-to-toe in the first bout of the night on May 26th at the Rainton Meadows Arena and he is hoping to put down a marker for the rest of the card with an exciting display.
He said: “It is the first fight on so hopefully the crowd will love the fight and we get them pumped to see the rest of the card.”
When it comes to a game plan, Edgar revealed he will be looking to stand and trade with Westwood as he is wary of the threat that the his opponent poses on the ground.
“I don’t know much about him but from what I do know, the research shows that he is good on the ground and I see the fight being a stand up one as I’ll be looking to keep it on the feet.”
Christopher thanked Luke for taking this match up on two weeks notice and also would like to thank his sponsors Peak Body Nutrition as well as all of his training partners.
